Academic
The Academic Vocational Program at Spitskop Special Needs School is designed to provide a balanced education with a focus on both academics (80%) and essential skills development (20%). Learners follow the CAPS and Amended CAPS curricula, as outlined by the Department of Education, to ensure comprehensive academic progression. Core subjects include Language, Mathematics, Life Orientation, Science, and Arts. Through these subjects, learners develop critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, while the skills development component emphasizes practical abilities to support independent living and future employability.
This approach ensures that each learner receives a well-rounded education tailored to their unique needs and potential.
